PRP Hair Restoration for Hair Growth
Restore Your Scalp
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical treatment in which the patient’s blood is drawn, processed/spun, and then injected into the scalp. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. Through PRP injections for hair loss, growth factors can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.
The blood is first drawn from the patient, the blood tube is then placed into a machine called the centrifuge. At this point the blood is spun, separating the red blood cells from the plasma, better known as “liquid gold”. Once this process is complete the “liquid gold” is then injected directly into the scalp hair follicles.
Growth factors, in a sense, begin to play the role of messengers, signaling skin cells to function. Noticeably, they’ve been used in medicine to treat a range of health issues, including arthritis, signs of aging, etc. The good news for anyone with thinning hair is that the growth factors can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth. Restore your scalp, recreate you!
Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter. Patient results may vary but will begin to show signs of decreased hair thinning, when less hair begins to shed.
